Rule of Thirds

This assignment was all about taking pictures on the  connecting points of a grid. Placement photos are when your subject is on the connecting points but division photos are when the horizon line is on the connecting points. I focused on bringing out the object and keeping open space around it.

  1. Nice set of photos, the black and white really helps. I especially like the photo of the girl with the water shooting out of the hose, it's a good combo photo. Maybe next time try working with more dramatic angle to make the photos really stand out.

  2. Really good job! I think sometimes black snd white doesn't make the photo "pop" as much but that was nit the case for this set of photos. It just makes them that much stronger!!

  3. Your photos are great. It would have been good to see a little color, but overall you did a great job!

  4. I think it interesting that most of your photos have a person as a subject. That makes them all connect in a great way. Maybe you could add more photos of landscapes.

  6. nice pictures of people. I like that they are all in black and white because there is a vibrant innocence and delicate aroma behind each image. They are very crisp and the third I think is your best!

  8. Usually I associate people with being used in "placement" shots, but what I love about this set is how you use people for the division shots as well. It looks different, but in a very unique way and adds distinctiveness to your photos. in some photos the lines of the thirds are blurred, but the way they come together works very well. nice!
